We opened our first home for young mothers aging out of foster care Dec 1, 2018. This is the first of several homes we will open in the near future.
This property provides a safe loving home for four young mothers who have aged out of foster care and their children.
These youth are enrolled in our Soar Mentoring program and receive a variety of service's such as parenting classes. They work with mentors who help teach them life skills, like cooking, finances and other skills they need to live independently. Each participant works with a case manager to develop a plan for their future. They are also matched up with local churches who will mentor them and provide spiritual guidance to them.
We are currently in need of sponsors for this home.
It currently cost's us about $400.00 a month per family to provide housing, mentoring and service's for these young mothers and their children.
Each family has their own room and all furnishings are provided. For the first 3 months we supply food boxes, toiletries and hygiene items. At the end of the 3rd month they should be working and will be expected to start buying their own food and supplies with little assistance. If these individuals stay on track with there case plan they will be ready to live independently after 12 months. At that time we will assist with finding them their own home.
